Biography
Gerald Sarte graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. There, he garnered various academic scholarships and distinctions in Chemistry and Psychology. Upon graduation, Mr. Sarte chose to forego a career in the sciences and medicine, and opted for the field of law. Mr. Sarte proceeded to obtain his Juris Doctorate degree from California Western School of Law. During law school, Mr. Sarte served as the President of the Pan Asian Student Bar Association and as Lieutenant Governor in the American Bar Association/ Law Student Division. He entered several moot court competitions, earning awards for Best Oral Presentation and Best Brief. He has also received recognition in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
Mr. Sarte has extensive litigation and jury trial experience, representing individuals, businesses, and corporations as both Plaintiffs and Defendants. He has served as trial counsel and been integrally involved in several high-profile cases involving complex business transactions and unfair competition, intellectual property, and personal injury. Mr. Sarte’s primary areas of practice are in Business Transactions, Business and Civil Litigation, Bankruptcy, and Personal Injury, including Auto Accidents, Wrongful Death, and Medical Malpractice.
He is admitted to practice before all the state courts of California, the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. Mr. Sarte is a past President of Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego, and a member of its Board of Directors. He is also actively involved with Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego, and the Southwest Center for Asian Pacific American Law. He has been a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, the Business Law and Litigation Sections of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association; the La Jolla Bar Association; the Intellectual Property and Litigation Sections of the Federal Bar Association (Los Angeles and San Diego chapters), and the San Diego Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.
